ENDURO MOTOR CYCLING
Ecuador mainland with its three major geographical regions, the Andes
mountains, coastal plains and Amazon basin is an ideal country for
Enduro
motor cycling adventures. It offers something for everybody from
beginners to experts with many challenging off-road terrain.
Winding and steep dirt trails up the volcanoes, gravel and cobbled roads
in the valleys, sand banks and river crossings in the Amazon, muddy
trails in the coastal regions and even a suspension bridge across a deep
gorge awaits the Enduro biking enthusiast. Participants experience not only the
power and speed of the motor cycle but also get
to know the amazing scenery and views of the country and its varied nature from high alpine vegetation to a
lush tropical flora.

The motorcycle we use for our Enduro adventures is a Honda XR 600
with a progressive suspension, hand and brake protectors and a
Renthal handle bar. Apart
from the
motor cycles also included in the tour prices are a guide, your personal equipment like
helmets, jackets, boots, belts, gloves, rain gear, etc... the gasoline, lunch and refreshment on day trips, accommodation
and breakfast on longer excursions. Not included are entrance fees to
National Parks and the remaining meals and refreshments not mentioned above.
Before starting on any tour ( click
for pictures ) a briefing by the guide takes
place. Your tour leader talks about the bike, safety rules in general, how to
behave in traffic and what to expect from the trip, its duration and
grade of difficulty. The first hour or so on any trip is always spent on
good asphalt roads so you get accustomed to the motorcycles before
getting into off-road terrain.
Note: Off-road means any road, which is not paved like dirt
trails, gravel or cobbled roads, etc... Driving off on fields, pasture
or undisturbed nature areas will not be tolerated and is forbidden. We
try not to damage anything.
The trips are usually put together for 2 to 4 participants with one tour
guide. The guide takes along spare parts and a tool kit and the other
bikers take their own personal belongings tied to their bikes. A small bag
carried on the back serves for your rain gear and cameras, anything you
might need at hand.
