VIII  From our high camp at 5000m we have wonderful evening views to the peak (right) and other mountains.

IX  On top of the world's most southerly 6000m peak.

X  Views from the top along the ridge of the peak of this high and extinct volcano.

XI  On the last evening we are again in awe by the beauty of the sunsets in the Andes.

XII  Penitentes ice can make going get tough and so much more effort is needed.

XIII  On the way out the snow cover breaks up and the Marmolejo creek makes its appearence.

XIV  Early light illuminates the fantastic rock formations passed on this trek.

XV  Reaching the end of the snow line and the green La Engorda valley again.

XVI  Leaving the higher mountain valleys behind us and moving down towards our final camp.

XVII  The last trail back to our starting point is used by the local cowboys to move their herds.

XVIII  Reaching again the small village of Baños Morales with its homely wooden church.
