(Plaza de Mulas to Nido de Condores)

X Diversion at base camp means looking at the hotel opposite the valley and occassional helicopter landings....

....and more fun means sitting around and doing nothing or sitting around and doing something (J.V.)

XI Remains of a snowstorm which the area experienced a week ago in full summer

XII That mushroom cloud on top of Aconcagua (left) means
strong winds and bad weather and gives me time to visit a small ice cave with water rushing inside it

XIII The northwest side of Aconcagua in all its colors as seen from Plaza de Mulas

XIV Climbing up the steep slope to finally reach Nido del Condores, our final camp at 5300m

XV From Nido de Condores you have great views of the
Andes range to the west and north....

... but the most amazing sights are the incredible sunsets with the last sunrays touching warmly the harsh surroundings of the Andes mountains
