Train Ride Devil's Nose

After winning the civil war in 1905, Eloy Alfaro
had the dream of uniting the country through modern infrastructure, like
a train connecting
Quito, the capital with Guayaquil, the major
port.
At that time this train run was a technical master piece as it
dared to challenge the mighty Andes.
The part known as Devil's Nose is a steep part in the run, which only
could be mastered by switchbacks.
