Yarina Lodge



is located east of the town of Coca, one hour by boat down the Napo, on the shore of the Manduro river, overlooking the rainforest. It is situated on a bluff and consists of 20 double cabins with private bathrooms, built in 1998 in the traditional Quechua style with typical materials found in that area. A larger main building serves as the dining and social area of the complex. Electricity is provided by a diesel generator and you have light in your cabins till 10 pm. Yarina reserve covers 300 ha and is part of a greater protected region.

Tour programs:

The tours start in Coca at the Hotel Oasis and end there again. Transport from Coca to the lodge and back, accommodations and meals at the lodge, native guides and English interpreters are included in the package. As this lodge is close to Coca, you may start your trip on any day and choose the length of stay. but we recommend at least 3 days to make it worthwhile.

Activities include night walk through the jungle to observe nocturnal animals and insects, early morning hike to observe birds, hike through forest to get to know trees, vegetation, medicinal and poisonous plants, walk to a high observation tower for view over forest canopy and to watch birds, piranha fishing, night canoe trip to see caimans, demonstration of gold washing and visit of a native hut.
